Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using VoiceHearth, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

VoiceHearth is operated by Sandro Brunner, Bahnhofstr. 41, 8180 Bülach, Switzerland (“VoiceHearth”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

What VoiceHearth does

VoiceHearth is a web service that lets you record yourself reading a children's story, page by page, and receive a processed MP3 file of your recording. The stories in our library are classic fairy tales in the public domain.

Your account

You sign in using your email address and a one-time code. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at contact@voicehearth.com. Upon deletion, all your recordings and personal data will be permanently removed within 7 days.

Payments and pricing

Each story recording costs $4.99. This is a one-time payment per story — there are no subscriptions or recurring charges.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By completing a purchase you agree to Stripe's terms of service. We never store your payment details.

All prices are listed in US dollars (USD). Your bank may apply currency conversion fees if your account is in a different currency.

Refunds

If there is a technical problem with your recording — such as a processing failure or a corrupted file — contact us at contact@voicehearth.com within 7 days of purchase and we will make it right, either by reprocessing your recording or issuing a full refund.

Because the product is a digital file that is delivered immediately, we are unable to offer refunds based on the audio quality of your own recording (which depends on your microphone, environment, and performance).

Ownership and intellectual property

  • The story texts — the stories in our library are classic fairy tales whose copyrights have expired. They are in the public domain.
  • Your voice recording — the audio you record is yours. We do not claim any ownership over it. We process it solely to generate your MP3.
  • The processed MP3 — once purchased, the file is yours to keep, download, and share personally. See the usage restrictions below.
  • The VoiceHearth service — the software, design, and technology behind VoiceHearth remain the property of VoiceHearth. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or redistribute any part of the service.

Acceptable use

You may use VoiceHearth and your MP3 files for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not:

  • Sell, license, or commercially distribute recordings made through VoiceHearth
  • Use the service to record content other than the stories provided
  • Attempt to circumvent payments or access features you have not paid for
  • Use automated tools or bots to interact with the service
  • Use the service in any way that violates applicable law

Audio quality

VoiceHearth processes your recording to improve its quality — including noise reduction and volume normalisation. However, the final result depends significantly on the quality of your microphone, your recording environment, and your performance.

We cannot guarantee a specific audio quality standard, and we are not liable for results that do not meet your expectations when the underlying recording is of poor technical quality. The recording tips provided in the app are there to help you get the best possible result.

Service availability

We aim to keep VoiceHearth available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally take the service offline for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from downtime.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, VoiceHearth and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific recording giving rise to the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of VoiceHearth after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland.
